The Otherside....I made it!!!!!
Hey guys it is great to say I'm here and I made it!!!! I am still a little sore but otherwise doing very well. I have taken in around 50 oz. today and am still sipping. I am finding for me the warm liquids are much, much, easier to tolerate. The surgery went smoothly Dr. Johnson from Dr. Duncan's group did my surgery. I had happy juice before the surgery and I was out like a light, don't remember the OR or anything related to what happened until I started coming to in recovery. All I remember from that is they gave me insulin cause my sugar was too high and I remember alot of activity around me. The only weird thing that happened was I reacted to the gastrograffin stuff you drink for the leak test. I started breaking out in hives and freaked everyone out. The radiology dr. said in his 30 years he's never seen it happen to anyone. Oh well I'm special I told him. A shot of Benadryl and I was fine. I got home Tuesday around 1pm. The third day was the toughest day. I started out sleeping in my recliner the first night but moved to a bed after two hours. No nausea or anything other than the dreaded gas which is getting better but not gone yet. I am so happy to finally be on the otherside.
Thanks again to everyone who has asked about me, emailed, posted or called ya'll are sweethearts!!!!!
Debbie -??
Hi, Debbie!!! Welcome home!!! I had to sleep in my bed too. One hint: When getting out of bed, cross your arms, and have your hubby or someone else cross theirs too. Clasp hands, and have the other person slowly pull you up. It was much less painful this way...no straining. One of the least painful positions for me was sitting at my desk.
That leak test stuff is soooo nasty. Sorry that you had a reaction!!! I'm sure that was a bit scarey.
Your fluid intake is excellent!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Hugs,
Becky
