How long did you all have to wait to start eatting lettuce again? I have had some real bad hunger pains or maybe I'll call it a longing to eat a salad.

I would kill for a salad! I was told I have to wait 6 months since the lettuce is so hard to digest. Other docs probably say different. They all say something else. LOLOL Who knows for sure. How far out are you? If you need anything just yell. Hugs, Debra

I think I waited longer than some... I just had my first salad about a week ago and I'm 3 months post op. I was terrified of raw vegetables and even now only put a few things like cheese and cucumber on my salad. I did have a taco salad yesterday that was wonderful! No salsa or spicey things in it.

*ducking and running* I waited 6 weeks for a salad. Dr Hart said to try and if it works then go for it. Rachel was fine with me eating salad as long as it stayed down. No problems I am having a warm lettuce, cucumber, and walnut salad for dinner tonight! Saliena

I actually started eating salad at 2 weeks out. Yep, sure did. I was craving it so I tried it and did well. The PA in Dr D's office said it was fine if I did well with it. I also started eating fruit then and was ok'd by the Dr. Tonya
