Ok, I have all my stuff done (I think) so I called Dr. Burrowes' office to find out what the deal is now and spoke with several people (yes, I have called EVERY day) and the last thing I heard was that Dr. Burrowes had my file and they would call when it was going to be submitted to the insurance. THEN I asked if there was ANY way at all that they could go ahead and put me on the calendar so she informs me that they are all booked up through the end of the year *sigh*. Does anyone know how long it takes them to submit and how long it might take to hear something??? I have BCBSGA HMO. I asked her about the rumor and she said that they have heard the same but they also said that if you get approval before Jan that you could still have it done. I am SO anxious.....am I being silly??? Shree

Hey Shree, I have a little info that might help. I also have BCBS GA HMO. My husbands company just renewed at the end of October. So, I called the insurance company about them doing away with the bariatric surgery. I don't know about yours, but if your company has renewed before December it will still be covered in 2005. So, I was happy I thought I had to be approved by December but Lisa at BCBS told me that mine was still covered because of the renewal. So, don't know when your's renewed, but maybe that helps. Also, at my doctor's office they are already scheduling the end of Jan. 2005. So, mine is still months away.
