Is it normal??????
HEy guys
I have a question! When you were counting down your days till surgery, was there little things that never concerned you are thoughts you never had to conquer thAT ALL of a sudden staartrs creeping up on you?
Example this happened to me tonigh****ching the special on dateline about gastric by-pass all of a sudden they were willing Al back for his surgery and I burst in teasrs my husband grabed me hand an said what on earth is wrong, and i say omg I just thought about me getting ready to goback to the operating room and telling my family and friends see yaa I Love You all very much and then never see them again this is an example.
Samantha, thought the same thing when I was watching it also.
Especially when it is the surgeon I am wanting to use. I haven't gotten my approval yet, it is at an appeal. So I guess i will leave it up to the Lord & if it was meant for me then it will happen & if not then I will try something else. I just know we will be okay though, I'll keep you in my prayers.

I didn't see the Dateline special, but I find myself having exactly the same fears. Each time, I have to FORCE myself to divert my thoughts and instead focus on the positive end of things. Even though, I know it could be a reality...I just cannot bear to think of it. This is so difficult because it keeps creeping into my thoughts, so it is a constant struggle!
I know I am going to be a MESS this coming week...I can feel it coming on, alreay! I wish each of you the best, and I will be praying for you guys!
God bless you!

Samantha....
((((HUG!)))) Sooooo normal girl! Before my surgery, I would have thoughts with my kids..."what if this is the last time I get to do this?"
No one WANTS to think this way, but it is normal.
You know, the biggest difference between our surgery and most other surgeries, is that the majority of other surgeries are decided upon and performed within a day or a week.
WE get a year or two to worry about it while we make our decision, and then usually a couple of months once we have our date. We get WAYYYY to much time to dwell on the "what if's".
If you are confident in your decision, (and I don't know if you pray or not...but if you do, I'm sure you have done plenty), and you are confident in your choice of surgeons, you have the support of your family, and you are prepared to follow your doc's instructions, then you are ready!
Samantha girl, I will keep you in my prayers, as I'm sure will the whole Ga. board!!
Let me know if you need anyone to "vent" to!
