Well the inevitable has happened....my hair is falling out all over the place. I'm not loosing it in clumps like some people say they do but it's one by one falling out of my head and decorating my clothes, the furniture, the floor, etc, etc. It's everywhere! I hope it stops soon! Tonya 3.5 mths post-op

My hair started falling out at about 3 months PO.....it's still coming out and I'm now 5.5 months. It s a combination of things. Malnutrition, lack of protein, and anesthesia. It will slow down as long as you're getting your protein in...but it's bound to happen to all of us because of the new restrictions we've put on our selves!!! I, for one, am grateful that I had thick hair to start with. I've been told by my hair dresser (who also has had the surgery) to use Infusium shampoo and conditioner and it will help. It has...but it's also helping that I'm "toleratng" a little more food than before....(not much more - but it's mostly staying with me better.....knocking on wood!) I struggle with getting enough protein in.....but I'm trying!!! Keep up your protein and it should slow down soon!

Tonya...in the last two days I've noticed hair loss as well...so far, only when I wash my hair and it's wet I've seen strands on my hands when I run my fingers through.! Sheesh! I was soooo hoping I'd be the one that DIDN'T! lol...Well, they say it's temporary. I hope so! At least Im not the only one! I'm 12 weeks last Monday so time frame is very similar.

Tonya, mine started falling out at about 3 or 4 months. I had surgery on March 31, 2004. In the last month or so it quit falling out so bad , but I have started wearing a wig. I just wash my hair and don't put anything on it. I massage my scape everyday and I have used the Infusium (? spelling ) shampoo. I read all this on here. It has not started coming back very much , but I think it will from what I have read on here. Good luck !!!!! Judy

Tonya ok ihad this problem and i think i finally got it under control ...i started taking Biotin from GNC or someplace like it and then i got some Vist Vitiams on line which are for people who had the surgery and that help a great deal with energy and my hair .....Now you can check them out at Vistvitiams.com if you want or just get a VERY good vitiam and i think you will be ok but it did take about two months for everything to get back to normal Laura

Girl, I am right there with you. Mine has been falling out for about a month now (I'll be four months out on Saturday). I know I'm not getting enough protein, but my doctor had told me it didn't matter what you do, rapid weight lose is going to cause this. I'm hoping it slows down soon (the hair lose, not the weight lose ), cause it's driving me crazy! I feel like long haired cat in summer! Kelle

Well, all I can say is THANK GOD I am not in the food industry!!!! EW! Honey, it's EVERYWHERE! I cannot run my hand through my hair, cuz I will have tons in my hand. My assistant at work keeps walking up behind me and pulling all my hair off the back of my shirt. I find it on my desk, my keyboard, the pillow, the shower, the hairbrush.... I am kinda flippin out. I have been taking Biotin for quite some time, as well as takin Zinc. I just bought some Nioxin to try and would use GLUE if I thought it would help.
