High blood pressure???

Did anyone have extremely high blood pressure before surgery? And if so did the Dr. go ahead with your surgery? I haven't got a date yet but I am having problems with my blood pressure. 176/118

Tammy, I don't really know what to tell you here, hon..as I am not plagued with HBP, thank God! But I keep thinking you should talk to your surgeon about these concerns or one of his nurses and find out what is the best course of action to take in plenty of time before you are scheduled for surgery. Hopefully maybe some other patients of the same surgeon you have that have HBP will respond here for you. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can soon get it down to a normal level. Yes, I had high blood pressure and had been on meds for just over a year. Mine was still high on certain days. It was not a problem with my surgery. I did have a fever for a few days and they kept giving me meds to try and bring it down. The last time i took my blood pressure medicine was the night before i went in for my surgery. My BP was still a little high at certain times after the surgery but nothing like before the surgery. Totally off those meds forever so you shouldnt have a problem having the surgery b/c of high BP, infact it's a reason they would do the surgery. Jamie
