AAAAARRGGGG!! Consult with Dr.

Well, I had my consult this morning with the Dr. Everything went great! I got all my info and talked with the dr. When I got to work everything was going fine. Then I get a call from their office. My referral had expired and now I need another by EOD. I called my dr. and they said that they can't get one done today. So now I have to come up with $134 or they will STOP the process. I am soooo ticked off right now I don't know what to do. How long can it take to go into the system and update a referral? Please pray for me that everything gets straightened out and I can go on with my journey. Looks like the goblins are out to get me and I feel like shooting them!!

I didn't even realize that I needed a referral when I went for my consult. (Brilliant, I know!) I had to sign a waiver saying that I would pay if the surgeon's office did not receive a referral from my PCP. It was not sent the same day, but did make it the next week. The next part of the process is probably your's anyway. I had to schedule with my PCP for the clearance and weight loss history, nutritionist, and psychologist after the consult, so, it shouldn't delay your process too much...not sure what they're going to stop! Hang tight Cheryl. There has got to be a way for your Surgeon's office to wait on the referral before they charge you. Fingers crossed they will. Hugs, Tonya
