Pound a day since surgery? UPDATE!
Boy life has really changed for me since surgery. I now have a job from home, which I really enjoy doing. I've been very happy with being able to make money again. I already have so many plans of things I want to do in the future. I'm walking everywhere now and don't even think about it. I have no more back pain, no more hypertension, and my sleep apnea has improved greatly. I can clean my own house, I can take a shower standing up, my legs have improved so much, I catch myself crossing my legs! I stepped on the scale this morning and needless to say Kenneth was a little upset, for once I weigh less than he does! I put on his uniform pants again and they are falling off me. The scale said 421 pounds! That's 149 pounds since surgery 152 days ago!! Total loss of 194 pounds!
Also my big news that I've been holding off telling everyone, is Kenneth is going to have the surgery. We had talked about it even prior to my surgery. As with most of us dieting has not been successful for him. Infact this morning we went to get his Phys Evaluation. They told him before he left that he more than qualifies, and seems emotionally stable. He goes to see Dr. Martindale (my surgeon) in November. We are hoping for a date around the first part of the year pending insurance approval of course. Some of you might remember that Kenneth had a foot ulcer, not related to diabetes. They suggested the weigh loss would help his foot with the pain he's been dealing with. I'm more nervous about his surgery than I was my own, if that makes sense! His father had surgery back in 1992, he was over 500 pounds. I know he's been worried because his father had his first heart attack around Ken's age. We are both so young to be missing out on so much, he's so active yet the weight just keeps coming. So now you all know the news! I'm sure this will be more stressful than my own surgery, so glad to know I got you guys! I'm back to work!
