WLS moment for me
I was taking a walk around the halls at the hospital and met some "5 year post ops" who had I not been told by them I NEVER would have guessed them to have ever been overweight! They looked incredible. They were there helping another friend who had just had surgery the day before. I happened to mention that I "remember walking the halls" and they were astonished that "I" would need the surgery cause I was looking so good (Boy that made MY DAY!) I told them that I'm 5 months post op and still have about 85 lbs that I want to loose. They told me (and it was as sincere as it could be from anyone) that they were proud of me - and that obviously I was in the right direction cause I was looking very good! I was so thrilled to hear that someone I didn't know - could say such a sweet sincere thing! I just had to share that!
I also had another "smaller" moment this morning when I got to the hospital - Holly's husband didn't recognize me. He said between the weightloss and the new hair cut (yeah - there went that surprise...LOL) that he would never have recognized me.
One last thing....in my car I've had to wear a seat belt extender because the regualr belt was too tight. For the last week I've been not wearing it ....and BOY has that felt wonderful!!!! It's almost "normalizing" again!
I can't thank GOD enough for the blessings he's bestowed upon me. This wonderful surgery that has saved my life, my friends from this board and my family support I feel like I'm flying on cloud 9.
