Feeling Discouraged

Well as you all know I was on a business trip last week. I came home I was up 4.5lbs from last Monday's weight, today I am up 5lbs!!! UGH!! I was really good about getting in my protein while I was gone...mostly through protein drinks. I did indulge in some treats while I was there(truffles!!)....but nothing compared to what I would have pre-op. I guess I may be paying for it now. Not to mention that I indulged again when Tami came to town on Sat. night, at dinner my friend and I shared a a slice of WW chocolate raspberry cake!! I don't feel bad about it really but I do feel bad about the weight gain. I do know what the answer is but I just feel so discouraged! Thanks for listening, Tonya

5 lbs can be as simple as a little water retention, so hang in there!! I gained a few lbs this weekend on a trip to Augusta, and I noticed last night that it was probably all the salted nuts I ate!! You're doing great overall, so concentrate on that. (hugs) Ann in Duluth

Hey Tonya were you able to get all your water in? Lots of times when I travel I have a hard time getting my water in and the travel either by car or plane will make me retain fluid. Could be what's happening to you. Don't beat yourself up just jump on the tracks again and I'm sure you'll be fine. Debbie

Tonya, I think you are like me -- still learning what we can and cannot eat and the effects on our pouches. I'm so super SICK of the liquid diet I'm on. It's to the point all the cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, grits, yogurt, all tastes the same...maybe because of the texture...but I'm tired of them all. I want to move on to the next stage but I'm scared to death to do it. Take a deep breath, refocus your thinking, and those 5 pounds will be gone in no time. Please know that all of us are pulling for you and confident of your success. Keep your chin up my angel! All will be well! Robin BTW, we got Annie out yesterday and combed and brushed and combed until she shone like an Onyx. It was WONDERFUL!!!

Please don't feel discouraged....I agree it is probably water weight...Just jump right back into your routine and I am sure those five pounds will disappear as quickly as they came. You still look Marvelous! Angela Massey

Hey Girl!! I Had a great time with all you folks... I'm sorry you are struggling. Do you want to know what I do when I get really stuck? For ONE day, I go back to my liquid diet after surgery. Soups, jellos, etc., and ALL my protein and water. It seems to be the kickstart my body needs and off I go again. Just a thought! -Tami

As I told you earlier, you probably just have extra water weight...it will come off easily. Keep your head up...you've not done anything wrong. Our bodies have a way of doing what it wants. Regardless of how you're feeling right now, YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT! I know that is a big fear all of us deal with but we have to encourage each other when one of us gets down about it. You're loved, appreciated and beautiful! Put a smile on that pretty face. LOL. Have a better day. Phyllis

Retaining water on a flight has happened to me before too. I bet it will drop off quickly! I gain a little about the third week of each month, and then I lose it and more. Your body may also be in an adjustment stage. Don't fret. You TRULY are gorgeous! Hugs, Becky

I'm with everyone else...people tend to retain A LOT of water when they travel especially if you flew...plus eating foods that are not ordinarily in your diet will bloat just about anybody! I would not stress too much over it...one bad week does not make a bad year!! Don't get discouraged, It's just the "normal" ups and downs!!! (Easy for me to say right...it's not my 5 pounds, right? )!!! Have a great week and just concentrate on getting your water in and some fiber to wash out and "reset your system"! Best Wishes for a Great Week!!! Chris S

The BEST thing about you Tonya, is your INNER beauty. You are truly one of the beautiful people inside and out! I agree that it's probably water retention. I get the same problems when I'm not drinking the water properly - and when my monthly comes around. I understand your discouragement....but I do the samething Tami does - I go back to my liquid diet for a day and it makes a world of difference! Sometimes you HAVE to indulge....it's part of life....don't beat yourself up for it. Get back on track and the 5 lbs will be gone in NO TIME! We love you!!!! We'll all be here to support you NO MATTER WHAT!!!! Smile....the beauty in your life comes through in your smile!
