Dr. Duncan

Thank you for all of the information everyone gave me concerning Dr. Duncan. Due to the comments that I received privately and publicly, I have decided to go with a different surgeon. I know that many of you were pleased with Dr. Duncan and that is great. I guess I would be too if I didn't have any complications from the surgery. However, after reviewing some of the situations where there were complications due to surgical error, not general complications that could happen to anyone - I have decided that I would rather go to a surgeon who handles complications a little more responsibly. Again, thank you all for your input. It may have literally saved my life. Keisha

Hi Keisha, I don't know the background on the Dr. Duncan thing...could you fill me in? I like to stay in the "know" about the WLS doctors...as I'm still waiting to have mine. Thanks for the info! Chris S

I have heard of several folks who were displeased with Dr. Duncan's after care, but NEVER heard of problems caused by surgeon error. Hmmmm!!! The nurses at Atlanta Medical say he is one of the best, and they are behind the scenes and see everything! Many have recommended that their family and friends use him...don't think that would happen if they didn't think he was awesome! I received similar private e-mails when I began searching for a surgeon. Check for facts. Some were from people who had not used Dr. Duncan, but had heard...not good enough for me. There's rumors about every surgeon out there, especially if he's popular. A couple of factual ones were definitely about after care. I think Peachtree Bariatrics is addressing this now. Best wishes as you search for the right one for you! I am sure he or she is out there! Sincerely, Becky

The only people who influenced my decision were former patients of Dr. Duncan. Since they were the ones who were actually involved and directly effected by the wls complications, I feel comfortable with my decision to seek out another doctor. Good for Dr. Duncan for addressing his poor follow-up care issues! I am sure that will ease the mind of his former patients who almost died while in his care. I will be sure to pass this information along to them. I am sure the fact that the nurses at Atlanta Bariatrics think Dr. Duncan is awesome will give them great comfort as well.

Keisha, I want to publicly apologize for offending you. That was not my intention, but I did. My last statement about finding a surgeon was sincere. There are many great ones out there. I am sure you will find the right one for you. Sorry again, Becky
