Question about BC/BS

I called Dr. Duncan's office today and they said that they had faxed my stuff to BC/BS on 10/11 so I called BC/BS and they told me that I had been approved but that they were waiting to get information on the facility from Dr. Duncan's Office - I called Dr. Duncan's Office back and she told me that they had not yet received the letter from BC. Is that the way it goes?? I don't want to be calling bothering them all day long but it doesn't sound right to me. The lady at BC said the procedure was approved but made it sound like they were waiting to get the facility approved. Anyone run across this before?? Thanks Meg

Keep hounding BC because it took me 3 weeks after they told me I was approved to get them to mail the approval to Dr Duncan.

Meg, sometimes they get their wires crossed or disconnected all together. Did you get the name of the person at the insurance who told you you were approved? If you did I would call the doc office, tell them what you were told and then if they have a problem, they can call the person who told you what they were waiting on. Don't worry about bugging them. Hey Meg! I'm from Savannah too! I had a problem with BC not receiving faxes, but after numerous phone calls, they finally received all of the info and approved me right away. Good Luck with your surgery! Cindy -33

Hi Meg, What I did is when Bc/bs told me I was approved I told them to fax me a copy of the approval letter, then I faxed it to Dr. Duncans office. I could not wait on them to mail it they take forever. Call them and get them to fax it to you. Fastest way your going to get it done. Michelle

I'd call Dr. Duncan's office and have them call the insurance company...they often get signals crossed...it will take more time if they wait for the computer generated approval! Get on the Phone girl!!! Chris S
