I just wanted to tell you guys that I just received my 2 year post op lab results... Glucose now- 70 was- 126 Cholesterol now- 125 was- 245 Tryglycerides now 42 was 173 There is like a million other numbers on my labs, but those are the highlights, all of the others are normal as well!!! I have been doing alot of reflecting these past few days, and I sometimes can't believe where I am at. The other day I was looking at pictures of me before my surgery, and I was thinking that for the first time, I can't really remember how that was me, my husband came over and said the same thing...That thought scares me just a little bit, I want to always remember where I was before, because I don't want to go there again. It will be 2 years in just a few days, and I just wanted to say that I would do it all over again, I know for some of you newer post ops, you are going through alot right now, and some of you may even be regretting your decision..I am here to tell you that LIFE IS GREAT!!! Things will get better for you as your body adjusts to the new you, you have just surgically altered the way your body is supposed to work, and sometimes your body will betray you until it adjusts itself to the new you.. Well it's almost time to call my mom back in Arizona and give her the good news, she saw my birth father lose his vision, his kidneys, his leg, and his life at age 58 from Diabetes. My sister has been Diabetic for a few years and has fought her weight just like me. My brother has had 7 laser surgeries on his eyes to regain his vision due to Diabetic Retinopathy and High Blood Pressure. And today, I am going to tell her that she doesn't have to worry about my health any more!!!!! Have a great day guys!! Cathy Martin

That is such wonderful news. You are doing so well. I hope I can say the same thing 2 years from now. I also look forward to when I can tell my family they can stop worrying about me so much. I know they love me, but it does add additional stress/guilt. Keep up the great work!
