After doing 6 months for Cigna, it is time for annual enrollment, Cigna is not an option.... figures huh...... My question is , my choices are Aetna HMO and BC/BS of Ga. PPO. Input you have on either of these about getting aproved (how long did it take? How hard was it? ) and out of pocket expenses would bee GREATLY appreciated. Thank you for your time. Becky also now that I have completed my 6 months should I go ahead and reapply at Cigna after a Denial or just wait and start again after the new year with a new insurance company, will all that I have done like Psych and nutrition be acceptable for new insurance?

Hi Becky I had BC/BS of GA PPO, once they recev all my info they approved me in two days. My insurance was 80/20 so I had to pay the Dr. 800.00, and the hospital 220.00. I had my surgery 3-29-04 with Dr. Duncan. I thought I would have to fight but once I did everything they asked like, medically nessity letter from pcp, nutritional elvaluation, and a phych evaluation they approved me with no problems.

Thank you both for the information. I just want to get this done. I am going to go to my PCP monday and make sure everything is in order for the "6 month diet" for Cigna and reapply with them one more time just to see. I talked to someone at Cigna last week before I found out that I am going to have to change and she said I had a good case with them pending the 6 month diet I was "pre approved" so I have to at least try one last time. I hope I can go ahead and get it done. Thanks again for your time in answering me. Becky
