Leg cramps

Do you get them periodically? I wake up with them from time to time and it catches in my calf leg before I can get out of bed and stand up. They don't last long, but are very painful. I realized this morning after getting one I forgot to take my vitamin yesterday so I'm guessing that is what caused it. I think perhaps I should start making me a fruit smoothie daily with banana in it to help. Anyone else experiencing this problem found a solution too?

I got them a few times after surgery. I've always been told it was due to low potassium. Can you eat bananas? I started eating a banana a day and it really helped. I haven't had a leg cramp since. Also, kiwi has more potassium than bananas. Hugs, Tonya

I suspect I need to eat more bananas... I've been putting them in a smoothie periodically but haven't tried eating a fresh one yet
