HELP
Hi Wanda,
I'm still pre-op but have read lots of post-op's profiles where they have said the same thing as you have. However, I hope it's comforting to know that according to those same profiles, it does get better, it just takes a little time ...It's alot to get adjusted to at once ...hang in there I'm sure you'll be saying the same thing to other pre-ops in no time and also saying you'd do it all over again!
Wishing you lots of better days ahead, your in my thoughts and prayers!
Wanda,
I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I was hungry when I got home too and when I was around others eating it was even worse. Make sure to follow what you've been given to eat. Your pouch is still healing, you don't want to cause any damage by eating something you shouldn't. I know it's hard, but it does get easier.

I hear ya Girl. Lets see what we can do. Have you tried this one: take one can of f/f Cream of Chicken soup add a can of f/f chicken broth to it. Mix well. Remove the little pieces of chicken. Nuke. 1 serving is 1/4 cup. The Cream of Chicken gives it some body and makes it more satisfying.
At 9 days out I took a can of vegatable beef barley and pulverized it with my stick blender (that's fast becoming my best friend), added 1.5cans of water, nuked it, ate 1/4cup and thought I'd gone to heaven. It was incredible satisfying and sat just fine in the tummette.
Just one caution, it was the same consistency coming out as going in and only took 60-90 minutes to make the trip. *L*
Both of those made a lot so I froze the extra into ice cubes. Now I can take two cubes out of either the chicken or beef, nuke them for a quickie or to add to other things like mashed potatoes.
Today I'm going to pulverize a can of Turkey Pot Pie, nuke it and try 1/4 cup. Do you see a trend here? *G*
I added a 1/4teas of terryaki (sp?) sauce to the chicken soup as a BAM factor one time. And today I'm going to put a little string cheese in it.
Could you fix the egg in a different format? If you ate it over easy, try scrambled. If you ate it scrambled, try poached. The incredible eatable egg. I'm going to try one today, my first.
What about skim milk, protein shakes, etc? Are you able to tolerate them?
Hang on Girlfriend, I'm hanging here with you.

Wanda for the first week I was completely miserable but after that things got better everyday. Hang on things will get better, I had to leave the room and go lay down when anyone was eatting or cooking as the smell didn't sit well with me. Besides I wanted to eat what they were eating. One step at a time and it will get better I promise. I used Valveeta cheese in a scrambled egg and ate a little bit at at time. Please know that what you are going through is very normal and it will get better. Hugs and prayers, Theresa
