Dear Friends, I am not going to be able to make it to the dinner tommorrow night. My 4 year old son has been home sick with me since Tuesday. I was so hoping that he would be all better by now, but he just can't shake his bug. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday, (he has a fever 101-103) they did a Rapid Strep test which was negative. They decided to go ahead and send it to the lab since his fever was so high, and they should be calling me today with the results. Strep has been going around his Pre-K, so I shouldn't be surprised, actually I might be a little relieved since that would explain the fevers. I also received news yesterday that my Insurance company has decided that my Panniculectomy is purely cosmetic, so they have denied authorization for the surgery. You think that it is hard to get Gastric Bypass approved, just wait till you need to get the skin removed! The plastic surgeon is going to give me a quote for what it would cost as a self pay, so we will see, also I am going to try and appeal with the Ins. I am sorry that this post is so long and depressing, I have just had a really bad week and was SO looking forward to going to the dinner. I wanted to celebrate my two years post op with you all, and tell you all in person how wonderful life is now with out all my extra weight. Well I hope to see you guys at the next dinner, I hope that you all have a WONDERFUL time, and I can't wait to see the pictures, next time I will be in them too!!! Take Care, Cathy Martin

So sorry Cathy, I was very much looking forward to meeting you. Does your son have any other symptoms besides the fever? I remember when my oldest was young, he had a crazy high fever for about 5 days and no other symptom. I kept going to the doctor and nothing...nothing.... Finally, one day, the fever broke and he broke out in mild rash. Turns out he had Roseola...he was fine..but the fever scared the begeebers out of me... Yeah, I have a feeling I'll be paying for my own panni...doesn't look very good these days.... We will COUNT on you being there for the next dinner. -Tami 340/260/??

Tami, Thanks for the reply, I was looking forward to meeting you as well..Ryan has some slight congestion which just started last night. All his doctor will tell me is to keep treating the fever. What is so upsetting about this is that last December, he had a fever of 104-106 for 21 days STRAIGHT. He was diagnosed with Infulenza, ear infections, and then finally Pnuemonia. At the time I was still in Ohio, and my husband was already out here, so I was all alone. I don't ever want to go through that again. So now when he gets a fever, I get a little jumpy. I will keep an eye out for a rash though, thanks for the tip. Have a GREAT dinner!!!!! Cathy

Amy, Thank you so much for your prayers. I was looking forward to meeting you. I know that he will get better soon, I just wish that I could take all the bad stuff for him instead, I guess that goes with the territory when you have kids. I hope that you are going to be able to go to the dinner, you deserve a night out to celebrate your weight loss and your birthday! Hope to see you at the next one. Cathy
