Wedding Pics and Update!
Saturday (10/02) my mother-in-law got married. I was so happy for her. When I met Kenneth 10 years ago, his father died the same year. I was overwhelmed meeting everyone that I did at his funeral. Kenneth has many relatives. All this time I've known my mother-in-law she's been alone. We were all so happy to hear she was getting married. So after months of planning it happened. The night of the rehearsal several people made comments about how good I was looking. It made me feel great. No one said anything about my weight loss. I knew though that many people would not see it, considering the last time I'd seen most of these people I was around this weight. I had told myself prior to going that many people wouldn't noticed because of that reason. It's going to be atleast another 100 pounds or so before family will see it or so I thought. So the next day at the wedding. Several people did say something. I was sitting on the front row and one of Ken's cousin walked past me. I heard him behind me say to someone else. "I see Kenneth, but where is Amy?" So they pointed to me and He said "I wouldn't have realized that was her". You guys should have seen the smile on my face. It made my day. When I was sitting down, most people didn't really see the difference, I got up to get my pictures taken and everyone in the room, which was about 20-30 people all were talking amongst themself about how great I looked. Someone said, "Amy, you look so beautiful tonight."
I got to weight this weekend. I'm now down 172 pounds, making 127 pounds since surgery just 4 months ago!!!! I did a lot of walking the past few days and I'll be honest my legs are killing me. I feel like I've been working out 12 hours straight or something. Most of the time I was in a sitting position and my lymphedema was flaring up some. Good news was though I went home and got some sleep, the next morning my legs were just fine. Time before this surgery I would have gone days with my legs in pain. This is my first and only picture with my mother-in law. We've never had a group picture either. I had so much fun. My birthday is this week and compared to last year I feel so much better. I'm starting to feel body wise young again!
