Prayers, please...for insurance approval!

Well, today begins the countdown as to whether or not my insurance will pre-approve my WLS. I have medicare (primary) and bc/bs (secondary). Dr. Mejias's nurse called me this morning to say she had everything she needed from my PCP and is submitted the insurance package today. She said sometime next week, I can start bugging the insurance company to see if I am approved. NOW...is when I start getting nervous! Even though I really, really want this...I have been sort of sitting on the fence about it all along..especially when I read about possible complications and/or death as a result of the surgery. Maybe I have been researching TOO much (??)...but we all need to know the realities, right? For all those that are having similar doubts or those who are about to begin their "losing" journey, my prayers are with you. Please pray for me too, that I get approved, and that I survive this with no problems. God bless you ALL! Pat

I am just about where you are now. I thought my doctor was sending the package to the insurance company this week, but they called and said they need a sleep apnea test. I have the first part next Friday. Then I have to do the overnight thing. I am getting impatient also. Give me a holler if you need anything. We can go through this together!! Carol

Hi Carol, Thank you for your response! I had to go back for a second sleep apnea test, myself. The first one was bad enough being hooked up like Frankenstein, but the second one they added a C-PAP and I felt like an alien..LOL! But all in all, I am glad they did, as I now use the C-PAP and sleep better than I have in years because of it! I would love to hear from you as you progress, and thank you for your support, as well.
