OT - My job situation
Well, they readvertised the positions again yesterday. Sigh. I called the guy I interviewed with on Monday and left him a message to please call me. Haven't heard a word. I'm guessing that is NOT a good sign.
Hope something else comes up soon. Please pray for me!! I can't stand being broke!!

Thanks, but I've already signed up with two and have never had a SINGLE call from either one!! I worked for temp services when I was in college, and it was fine.
My problem now is that most of the temp jobs are secretarial and I haven't done that in over 25 years. I've been in IT all that time. There are contracting jobs for IT, but not that many needing the particular skills I have. Permanent jobs in IT are even harder. I've applied at a call center several times and haven't been hired - I'm thinking I may have to just go to WalMart or something, and I've never worked retail in my life!! Sheesh - would they even hire me? I can see it now - you've been a computer programmer, analyst and database administrator for over 25 years, and you want a job as a cashier?? Why, yes, if it comes with benefits!!!
Sigh. It's very hard NOT to be discouraged now. I just tried to call the guy at Delta again and got his voice mail - again.

I am sorry you are having problems finding a job. My son is computer certified in Microsoft and A+ and has never been able to find a job in his field - he only finds occasional contract jobs. We thought the market was better in Atlanta. Manpower has a professional technical division but they do not pay too much. I am sure you are registered in the Web also.
