OMG Look in here! Meeeeemorieeeesss
This is a website theshadowlands.net/places/georgia.
andif you click it, it has all of the historical places in ga that are haunted. There are so many ive heard about all of my life.. its weird to see them here. I'm posting ones significant to me: Meaning Ive tried them, or I live near them.
THIS WAS MY HOMETOWN.. I spent many nights at the teen center, and going to and from this shed:
Forest Park - cemetery across the street from the teen center - it has a shed and when you walk towards the shed at night, you'll get this really weird feeling in the pit of your stomach, and it feels like something is pulling your soul out of you. For the next few days you will feel like you are invisible or like nothing around you is real.
This place is now a private school, and I attended it. There IS infact civil war signatures upstairs, and blood on the attic floor.
There is a old grill out back made of brick, and there are still shotgun shells in them.
Jonesboro - The Warren House - The Warren House was used as a hospital during the Civil War. While at the house many soldiers carved their names in the wall. At night a figure of a soldier can be seen holding a candle and looking out the window. There have been several reports of this. There is supposedly a bloodstain still on the floor in the attic. The confederate cemetery across the street is said to be haunted as well.
These are my current town:
Mabelton - Old Covered Bridge - Late at night if you go and stand in the bridge little children's voices can be heard playing. It is to believe if you take your car and park it and turn off everything, and place chocolate on your roof you can hear children climbing on your car and afterwards have chocolate handprints on the roof and hood of car. Children were killed underneath the bridge and you can hear them screaming and moaning.
Mableton - The Witch's Grave - Supposedly a practicing witch was killed and buried in a small private graveyard off of Concord Rd. Many people have reported numerous sounds. Voices, walking sounds, and several goose bump inducing winds pass through this area. Visit at your own risk. This area is now heavily patrolled by Cobb County Police.
Others close to me or my childhood, or Ive heard of them:

I went to a women's college in Alabama that was founded in 1838 and there were a number of ghosts on campus. My first dorm room was haunted (it had a single grave out one window, and a whole cemetery out another!!). The year before I went there, a girl was killed at home one weekend by her father, and many people saw her ghost on campus.
My last semester at school, the girl in the room next door to me called to me one night to look out the window. We lived in the main administration building (the upper two floors were dorms). Out front there were lampposts that had been gaslights at one time. The poles were covered with ivy. In the ivy, there was the figure of a woman. She was dressed in Civil War dress. Then, her dress faded away until only her head was showing, and when her "body" reappeared, she was wearing clothes from a different era!! Later on, a man's ghost was seen by the next lamppost.
It was all very strange. If it was a figment of my imagination, at least 20 other people had the same figment!

I don't know about a ghost or hearing the screams, but I do remember the incident. It was Glade shoals where they found the body in the woods. I don't think she was skinned but she did have bite marks. I will never know if you can hear her screams as I never plan to go there at midnight. I'm too chicken. This little girl lived in a trailer park where my babysitter lived at the time. Too close for comfort. There is a place somewhere close to Dawsonville, my brother and cousins told me about. If you put your car in neatral on this hill and turn it off it will roll uphill. If you put powder on the back of the car you'll see hand prints.
Gainesville - Flatshoals - In the early 90's there was a girl about 11 or 12 years old that was abducted by a sheriff and was taken to Flatshoals. She was raped and murdered, skinned like a deer and then thrown over the bluff. You can go up there about 12 midnight and hear her blood-curdling screams for help!
