First Appointment
I am SO excited! I have my first appointment with my PCP on October 5th and then an appointment with the surgeon on October 7th!! I am SO ready for this to happen. Any advice on anything I should be doing in the meantime to make the process faster once I get to those two appointments? I have a co-worker who had it done in April with the same insurance I have so I am hopeful there. I am just READY, you know?
Hey Shree,
I know what you mean. It is all a roller coaster that has gone mad. I am not sure what you can do as all insurance companies are different. Some say bug them to death others say wait. I didn't have to wait at all. I was a fortunate one. If you need anything at all, please let me know and I will do what I can. My emial is [email protected]. Feel free to ask anything you want. My surgery was on July 6, 2004 so I might be able to help a little.
Hugs,
Debra
I found your message! Something that may be helpful would be to have your nutritional history ready for your PCP to sign. Most insurance companies require this. I'll be glad to send you mine if you need an idea of what one might look like. I also had to have a referral from my PCP to the psychologist for insurance to cover it (would have cost $300). You may want to have the name of someone who does the psych eval. for your PCP before the visit, so the referral will be faster. Not all psychologists do these, so you will probably want to get a name from your insurance or surgeon! I had to go out of network, but Blue Choice reimbursed me. Also be sure to have your surgeon's fax number so paper work can be snet ASAP.
BTW, my hubby works in Marietta at Wheeler High School. Since I'm in Woodstock, we live close to each other. Who is your surgeon?
Hugs,
Becky
