I think you will really like the Atlanta and surrounding areas. Lots to see and do. The mountains are about an hour or so from Atlanta and are beautiful. You must go up to Helen. It's a really nice place to spend a weekend. The temps are definately better than Orlando. It gets cold enough to need a coat and dome areas of North GA even get a dusting of snow and maybe even a few inches. THe best thing to do is spend a few days up there and check it out. Try to come to one of the monthly outings and you'll get to talk to people from all around the Atlanta area. Good Luck, TOnya

Suzie, I am born and raised in Ga. I think it's wonderful!! The weather can be pretty hot in the summer, but it seems the last 2 summers have not been as bad as they could be.... But, we have winter too! And it has been known to get pretty dang cold in the winter! We also have beautiful peach trees and crape myrtles and dogwood trees and the most amazing azaleas you have ever seen in the spring. The roads here are not all straight and flat... our lay out is hilly and winding. Many many neighborhoods have beautiful trees that are so big that the trees on either side seem to meet in the middle, creating an archway down the street... The mountains are only a couple of hours away from the airport...and girl!! They are gorgeous!!! When the leaves start to turn in the fall...(won't be long now) amazing! We have countless attractions and things to do in the city... Stone Mountain...has a laser light show Six Flags - Amusement Park White Water water park Downtown - The Fox theatre - concerts, broadway shows, movies, etc. Nightclubs galore MANY Upscale restaurants. Tons of family type venues. Museums Historical areas, etc. OF COURSE...there's the TRAFFIC...MAJOR downer.. I have always loved my town... I hope you find it as enjoyable. Good Luck!! -Tami

Traffic depends onwhere you live. It takes me about 40 minutes to get to the airport. I live on the outskirts of the metro area. I can go backroads until just before the airport. It takes most people living in Atlanta that long to get to the airport. I like living in Georgia because we have 4 seasons. We are about an hour from the mountains and only about 6 hours from the beach at Savannah. This area is definitely great to live in. Many people that work in Atlanta live in Walton County. We are considered a bedroom community for Atlanta. Carolyn

All depends where you live, and work. I live 40 mins from my job, but it takes me an hour or so to get there sometimes. (I work in the city). Come on to Ga, you'll love it here. Mrs~Jackson

I love living in Georgia. I was born in Florida and visit my Gram often but I prefer GA since we have all 4 seasons. Wishing you all the best in whatever you and your hubby decide to do. Theresa
