Another BCBS approved WLS-er!!! Me!!!!!

Hi, fellow peaches! After what seems like (and WAS) months of tests, doctor's visits, etc. I have been approved by BCBS of GA. This seems like a dream to me! I'm just SO grateful that my insurer will help me have WLS! I couldn't do it without their help! WAY TO GO BCBS!!!!! And WAY TO GO Dr. Dennis Smith's staff... for helping me get this far. I so appreciate it! I've been so worried, with other states discontinuing coverage of WLS... that I wouldn't get approved in time before the policy changed. Thank you, God!!! Now if I can just get through the last two hoops... a cardiologist and a pulmonologist clearance for surgery!!! Just had to share... thanks, Lyn O.

Darla, Once I had everything in that the insurance company wanted, it took about 2 weeks to get approval. Not bad... just make sure you have everything that they want... including the nutritionist's report! Blessings, Lyn

Lyn, What nutritionist report? I have bcbs and they are ready to send my packet off. I never heard anything about it.. And congrats!!!!!! Kathy

Congratulations.......I was also approved by BCBS of GA on 9/2/04... It took 2 1/5 weeks with no problems.....Before long we will all be on the losing side.. Good Luck, Kathy
