Donna, That is just very sad. I really upsets be that he won't do this surgery on some people yet others that are larger he will. I just don't understand it. I though Dr. Burrowes took Medicare or C. Dan Smith at Emory. I know my surgeon does, but I'm in Augusta. I wish for the best for you. Don't give up. I wanted to many times. Amy

For all who have followed this post. I spoke with Holly a few times today, and she is going to go see my Surgen (Dr. Burrowes) next wednesday. I'm praying that if nothing else he helps her to realize that there are other doctors who are just as capable of doing the same surgery. The only drawbac to using Dr. B. is he will only do open. Granted his open procedure only left a 3" scar.....I felt it was worth it to me as well!. I think this change has her feeling a little better (Goodness knows she's been seeing red from Dr Duncan). Keep her in your prayers.....I believe in her and in Dr. B......I pray things work out well for her!!!!

I was just curious did you get the fobi pouch? If not did Dr. Burrowes divide your stomach? I was just wondering cause when I went I didn't have $4500 for the fobi and I changed my mind when I found out he doesn't divide the stomach. Was wondering if that was different now. Thanks, Amy

No - I did not do the Fobi pouch. I also did not have the money for it. He did divide my stomach though. I got to see it once they did the leak test after surgery. (That was interesting!!) Choosing a surgeon is something that becomes quite personal to each of us. This person that we choose is the one we are going to literally trust with out lives. I felt that trust with Dr. B. I know he's not for everyone....but I believed in him! Thanks for asking..... Dee Dee 349/268/???
