Insurance Denial

Hi, I had my surgery last year in June, and I've now lost 118 pounds. I have a friend in Georgia who has been through all the pre-requisites for the surgery but has just been denied by her insurance, Great West Insurance. She appealed it, and they denied her request again. She is very depressed about it and could use any advice any of you out there with Great West Insurance could give her. She has documented reflux and back and knee pain, but the insurance obviously didn't consider those co-morbidities.
