Help! Over The Hill?

I am 65 and on Medicare, and what a surprise! Every surgeon's office I call says "Sorry, we don't take Medicare." I have literally cried buckets over this. Am I to assume that I'm too old to be bothered with, or is it that Medicare doesn't pay enough. Please, please, anyone who knows the answer, I need help. I've noticed doctors who take Medicare/Medicaid, but they are usually fairly young women. Inside I feel young, but my body just doesn't agree, as I'm 100 lbs overweight, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea. I think all are reversible if I could have the surgery. If you know a doctor I could call, please let me know. I'm worried, because I don't notice anyone near my age on the boards. I'm praying someone can help me.

I think most surgerns won't do WLS surgery an anyone over 60 but there may be a few out there who will make an exception. Best of luck and we'll keep our fingers crossed for you. Kallen
