Does anyone know if surgeons will do Open or Lap when someone has too many disease of obesity. I am a diabetic (insulin dependent), I have a cardiac stent in my right coronary artery (which was discovered as a result of getting certified for the surgery) so I had a negative Echocardiogram, I have Sleep Apnea, GERD, High blood pressure, high cholestral, Arthritic knees and two hernitated discs in my back. I am thinking that the new surgeon in Savannah is going to not take me on because I have so many problems. I weight 300# I have an appointment with him to discuss all this on Monday. Does anyone have any suggestionsabout how I can convince him. I think if I don't get the surgery I will die. Tricare my insurance will only pay for Open, but I am thinking about pursuing BC/BS State Merit HMO which I also have even though they state they have an exclusion. I am thinking that maybe Dr. Angstadt may consider me more seriously if he could do a lap. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks, Meg
