I start the liquid diet tomorrow. On my list is apple juice and white grape juice (nothing red), coffee, tea, clear or yellow Gatorade and Kool-aid (nothing red), clear broth or bouillon, popcicles (not red), fruit flavored ices (not red), clear jello, hard candy, Lemon juice for tea. Not much of a selection, I know. I also plan on using my snow cone machine for the next couple of days. I have to take Neomycin tablets the day before surgery, along with MOM in the morning of the day before my surgery. I plan on staying home that day! LOL Patti

You can eat candy? I've been sick all day and in the bed. I had just about everything but popcicles. I'm home alone and my Mom want be here until Sunday night , I'm so hungry that I'm just eating the liquid powder bouillon of my chicken soup rather than adding water to it. It's more filling. I'll let my stomach juice's make it liquid. It's killing me!

No joke, I almost flipped when I saw it on the list....Hard Candy! I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Is this the first day of your liquid diet? Is it your pre-op diet? Patti

Yes and i'm just trying to make it to Monday that's my surgery. My friend came by to checkon me and I followed him in the kitchen and he was standing at the counter eating a subway sandwich and by habit I pick up to chips and put themin my mouth. Then I went to try to throw up and he made me stop he said you gotta finish this fleet thing tomorrow ( i don't know how I going to get it down the 1st time was hard!) I was crying and he said calm down 2 chips will not stop you from having surgery. He cousin had surgery and she only had to start the day before surgery. Lucky her. It was my fault I should have not followed him he said he would be right back with me some juice but I guess I smelled food. I can't reach the Dr. and my mother wants me to call them and ask can I eat something a plain potato or egg or something maybe even toast. I told her to please stop calling out types of food. I think this is the hardest part!

Honey, it's just going to take a little "will power" on your part. Just remember how far you've come in order to have the surgery and ask yourself just what you are willing to do to make it to the other side. Everyone is here to give you the advice you need, but it is up to you to follow your doctor's directions for pre-op. Each doctor has different rules for pre-op, and their reasons are their own. You don't want to show up Monday for your surgery and be told you have to reschedule for not following the rules. Did your doctor's office provide you instructions for your pre-op diet? If so, follow them, not mine or anyone elses. You can do it, I know you can! Patti
