8 Days post-op......
I am now 8 days post-op and feel so good!!! I'm kinda scared to post this for fear of jinxing myselfLOL But I really do feel good and feel like I am back up to full strength....until I over-exert and then my body reminds me that I just had surgery. It's so deceiving. I'm not sure how much weight I have lost yet and you know what?......I'm not obsessing about it b/c I feel that good! I am happy to be alive and not tired and dying for a nap b/c I ate so much that my insulin is out of control and making me tired. That's the way it was pre-op. It's so weird that I have 2-3 oz of thinned mashed potatoes for lunch and feel like I maybe eating too muchLOL It seems so unfathomable considering that pre-op I would've had a 6-7oz steak, WHOLE baked potato w/ sour cream and butter, salad w/ full calorie dressing, veggies and 1, 2, or 3 refills of coke ...oh and lets not forget the bread and butter. I honestly don't miss it. I don't miss needing to come home to rest b/c I gorged myself. I don't miss that incredibly tired feeling after eating.
I feel so free of the hell I put myself in for so long.
I have a long way to go and am looking forward to advancing on my full liquid diet but I am doing well. Tolerating all food thus far, getting in approx 26 g of protein for a average of 42-45 oz of fluid a day, plus taking my vitamins.
I thank God for having mercy on me! For bringing me through without complication and allowing me to progress through my journey happily
(lets hope it stays this wayLOL)
HUgs,
Tonya
I'm so happy for you. I honestly can say I feel the same way. I have thanked God daily for allowing me to have this surgery. It's amazing how wonderful I feel....I have no idea how much weight I've lost - but at my last weigh in at the doctor I only had 4 lbs to be under 300....that was on June 30th. I'm actually going on vacation this weekend and and LOOKING FORWARD to playing with the kids and not just sitting by. I get compliments everyday at how wonderful I'm looking - and honestly I don't think I can get tired of hearing it!!!! I look forward to hearing your progress.....I'm so happy you're doing good!!!!
Hey Girl
so I know who to call when I start going through this! Mine is three weeks from today. I was wondering how they expect you to get all that protein down....I figured it was impossible the first few months.
You just keep doing what you are doing! I feel confident you are going to be talking about all the progress you are making! Be sure you slow down now Tonya...this was a major surgery!

Girl, I'm soooooo happy to hear you are doing so well....my partner in surgery!!
It's pretty amazing, isn't it? I think you are moving around a little better than me, that darn incision & drain slowed me some...but after getting the drain out yesterday, i felt human, and stayed out for about 7 hours...guess what I've done all day today? SLEEP! Guess it was more than I realized...
Can't wait until we start putting up our after pics!! You are gonna be even MORE gorgeous!!!!

Tonya
Congratulations Tonya. I hope you continue to progress as well as you have been. Remember to keep in mind that it is sooo easy to overtire yourself. After my double trips to KY last week, I had to sleep all weekend, and I was five weeks out. It really snuck up on me. Keep us posted and all my best wishes. -Paige
Tonya, you go girl! You're doing so well. I'm so happy that you're feeling much better and are getting all your strength back.
I'm still pretty much a shut in cause of this darn drain that won't come out until my month followup, but I was able to drive myself to the doctor yesterday and I am going to the grocery store today so I'm getting out a little, I might even go to the movies next week during the day!
Keep yourself rested as much as you can, you'll be glad you did when you go back to work!

Hey Tonya,
It's good to see you. I agree wholeheartedly. I must make a confession. I am not on OH as much as I used to be because I have energy to do other things. Me and the kids are out more often. We can ride bike and when I have to chase after Javin even though he still has on training wheels I am not all gasping. So I know what you must be feeling like. I got a bathing suit and went swimming numerous times. WoW huh. Let me tell you. It's just beginning ya know. There is soooo much more where that came from huh. Soon you'll see all those pounds drop off and I am so proud and happy for you Tonya girl. Cant wait to finally meet you!!!
