Natalie, I have been on a CPAP machine since July 1. It takes alot of getting use to. I have been told and read in the books that I got with my machine that most people do stop snoring after surgery. Good luck with your surgery. Cindy

Well, it depends. I snore and have sleep apnea. Once I get the weight off, my sleep doc says that I probably won't need the CPAP machine anymore since my apnea is mild and obviously caused by my weight - the extra fat in my throat makes the opening too narrow. He said men usually don't get fat there, so the results may be different for them. Also, if you have apnea, it depends on how sever it is. My husband's is so bad that even if he lost weight, he'd still be on a machine. Ann in Duluth
