Medic Alert???

A while ago, I read somewhere (maybe here or another site) about the need for post-ops to wear a Medic Alert tag stating that we've had wls - something about an NG tube perforating the pouch. I haven't been told to get one by my doc. Have any of you? I have my 6 week check up in a couple of weeks and will check then, but thought I would check with you guys. Thanks Paige

I just received mine in the mail yesterday. You can order from the OH store. I opted to get one that is more of a jewelry type. I ordered from laurenshope.com (insert the www.). All I had engraved was "Bariatric Patient. No NG Tube", but you can put whatever you like on it. Some put "No NSAIDs". Patti

Thanks for the website. Aren't those just the most pretty things on that site. What one did you get. I was gonna go for the gold but uhm $90 for a medic bracelet. I am gonna pass out. But I found another one I want for $60 and will have to get that in a few weeks. Dang alot of money. My only fear is that the medics might overlook it being that it looks like jewelry. I've just received my second bracelet from creativemedicalid.com. They look just as beautiful as lauren's but much, much cheaper. Mine cost me around 35.00. Huge variety. I like them so much that I'm sure I will continue to order from her. Check it out.

I ordered one from Avon last year that said "Diabetic". It came with 2 different bracelets and I am taking it to a local jeweler to add "Bariatric Patient - No NG Tube". My jeweler only charges 5 dollars per line. Plus, the ID part on this bracelet has clasps on both ends, so I can change it out with nearly any other bracelet, so it will always coordinate with my outfits. The one from Avon was only $8.99.
