Why is there a $300 fee at your first consult with Dr. Rothwell? Are there fees that high with all surgeons? Does any one have a payment plan?

I am sorry I don't know the answer to that question although I think my surgeon's initial consult charge is that too, I haven't seen the benefits paid copy from my insurance yet. I did want to offer hugs and prayers though....Theresa

Sonya, hey they will not do a payment plan with you!! I originally was going to use them as my surgeons and even with me meeting my ins deductible they wanted me to pay over $2200 up front! According to them the $200 fee was for them to do the paper work! Mind you I m a nurse and done all of mine! SO I changed. Mind you this was after I recommended other patients to them who had their surgeries prior to mine! They also never performed mine as I was promised either! Dr. Williams promised he d do it when I got to 390 and I went to 380 and he refused to do it until I got to 375! The surgeon (Dr. Henderson) that I went with and felt WAY more comfortable with did nt make me pay a thing up front other than my $15 co pay! I put it all in Gods hand s and I KNOW Dr. Henderson is/was the best surgeon for me! He also does not require you to do after surgery tests like Dr. Williams/Rothwell want you to. And they do not put you in ICU unless its absolutely necessarry. They found out most ins companies wont pay for it so they use other techniques/vital signs etc to know how you are! Plus he didnt charge not even half of what Rothwell and them wanted! Matter of fact Dr. Henderson s staff bout flipped when I told them how much they are charging! HOpe this helps! If you want further info please read my profile or contact me! Needless to say I do not recommend Dr. Rothwell nor Williams anymore!!!!!!!!!!!! Kerri

Sonya I almost forgot the other reason they said the $200 was for them to put you on their web site to use you as a testament for their company! Kerri

My fees for my surgeon were $700 up front and then $3,800 due three weeks before surgery. If I had been turned down by my insurance company I would have lost my $700. Fortunately, after one appeal letter, I was approved. The $4,500 was in addition to the money my insurance company covered.
