Have surgery Date
congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I know this sounds bad but my son and I (we both had our wls the same day 5/13 he is 21 I am 49) both spent a few weeks eating our favorite foods. I also uppped my exercise in order to help with breathing. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and down 38 lbs. I wish you the best success on your new journey!!
Hi Lisa,
I Came by your profile while reading someone else's posting about her surgery date.
Congratulations on your surgery sound's like you and your son are doing great! Don't worry about trying to keep up with him. It's a proven fact that men lose weight faster because of their metabolism and the way they burn energy.
Anyway, I saw in your posting you were wondering how people were drinking slimfast - because of all the carbs and sugar that are in them.
It dawned on me that you might not have seen the new slimfast products that are for low carb dieters and are sweetened with splenda? It's a relatively new product and not all stores have them yet, or if they do, it might be on "display" somewhere and not on the traditional slim fast shelving area.
No, I don't work for slim fast....I'm preop and have been trying to find a really good tasting high protein drink...and you probably know how difficult that is....but suprisingly I actually really like the slim fast low carb/high protein drinks ( I don't even gag or have to drink it fast)!!
Next time you go to the store look for it...sometimes I have a heck of a time trying to find them (they only come in a four pack). Lots of luck on your continued success! Say a prayer for me, my surgeon is sending in my paperwork to the insurance company next week for approval!
Harriett!
The time will fly by! It will be here before you know it. That is a wondeful present, a new life full of changes! Please let me know if you have any questions!
