Cardiac clearance over 40
I have to have cardic clearance, but his office said that may or may not include stress test... i was just wondering if i had any chance of just going to talk to this man and not have it lol ... his office assures me it will be done quick if i need it... so it isnt bad news , i was just hopping for the least to be done lol thanks
This is perhaps one of the most important tests pre-op you will have. It might be a pain, (it's not really) or inconvenient, but believe me, when you're under the knife for as long as we are for surgery you need to know that your heart is strong enough to take it. I had mine done in Lawrenceville and the people were really nice.
I had been getting all of the tests for surgery and was required to get a cardiac clearance - my echo was good but my nuclear stress test was borderline. The cardiologist almost let it go but after relooking, he decided to take a closer look through a heart catheterization - lo and behold I had a 80-90% blockage in my right anterior coronary artery. I never had any symptoms except for being out of breath often which I attributed to my weight. I am 57 and I do have diabetes and hbp but I had a stress test the year before and it was fine. Right now I am thanking God that it was required because last week they went in and cleaned out the blockage and put in a stent. Now I am wondering if it will affect my ability to get the surgery even though the cardiologist said it shouldn't be a problem. Take about scary. Meg
