Weird Feelings

My surgery was on Monday, and I have been doing well. This morning, I was awakened by the gurgling and movement in my belly...more than usual. I thought maybe my insides are just getting back in action. For the last hour or so, I have been feeling more blotted than any other time this week even though I haven't eaten or drunk anything in several hours. Is this common? Can you tell I am worried about complications? Thanks for any comments! Becky

Becky, This could be a number of things. You could be fixing to pass gas. I didn't actually start until about the 6th day. I had not even eaten anything but apparently when they do the surgery you get air in there. If it's not that it could also be hunger. I know my belly will sometimes do that to tell me it's time to eat. Amy www.amylhwilliams.com

Hi Becky, I too still have those feelings almost 3 weeks out. However, it is much less than the first week. I agree that it is most likely gas. I could unload lots of gas after about 3-4 days post-op but it seemed like it just kept coming back. The gurgling gets much better with time as well. My wife had lap RNY on 6/7 and she is experiencing the same thing. Good luck! Vince
