Did I really have surgery?
You know I'm 12 days out today and I have to ask did I really have surgery? I had prepared for the worse case, but so far I'm really amazed. I'm amazed because things seem just like before surgery. Every since I got home it really seems as though I didn't even have surgery. So far everything I've eaten goes down great. Haven't felt sick. I drink like I use to for the most part not really sipping but not gulping either if that makes sense. It's amazing to me that one day you can eat more than another. It's been hard for me to get all the water in with the meals, but I'm "eating" mostly liquids anyways..lol The first night from the hospital I was able to sleep in bed, but the pulling from the staples made it hard so I ended up on the couch for a couple of nights so I could prop myself up better. Last night since the staples are now out I decided to try an sleep in the bed again. I slept like a baby. I even got out of the bed with no back or hip pain this morning, unbelieveable. When I weighed in Monday I'd lost 13 pounds. I can feel all over my body the changes already. I go back to my surgeon this Monday for another follow up. I know that most say it takes awhile for your energy to get back up after surgery, but I really feel like my old self, plus more energy. It's been amazing so far. I can't wait for a year from now. I dream about that every night.. LOL! I pray it continues this way for me. I'm ready to get out and live!

Amy - thank you for posting all the positive feedback on your surgery. Please keep us updated. Very happy for you. Dee
I am happy that you are doing so well, I read your profile a while back and really enjoyed it. I am still on a liquid/soft diet and everything goes well also. One day I decided to try some grits and that was a big mistake. I hope all goes well on your new journey it sounds like you are right on track.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCESSFUL SURGERY! I have been pain free and can tolerate anything I've put in my mouth so far. I've graduated to cottage cheese and that was heaven! I did have a little problem with gas pains and constipation, so I went full liquids yesterday and took some Milk of Magnesia and everything is fine today. I too am amazed that I had surgery as there is very little difference other than I can't eat fast and I can't eat a lot. I am sticking to the diet the surgeon gave me to the letter and so far no problems!!!!
YAY FOR US!!!!
