I've been trying to walk, but I guess I over did it yesterday, and now my calves are sore. Should I keep going, or should I rest for a couple of days? When will I be 'out of the woods' so to speak for blood clots? Thanks Guys, for all your love and support and best wishes . Kerry

Kerry, Just take it easy these first 2 weeks. As my doc told me, start out with walking to the mailbox and work your way up each day. While you're sitting, you can do leg lifts (no weights). Get up and walk around the house as you feel like it. My first week, I was totally exhausted from surgery so going to the bathroom and making a round inside the house did it for me. It helps that I have a treadmill because I pushed myself to walk briskly for 30 seconds....yes, seconds! Before you know it, you'll be ready to walk up Stone Mountain as I'm about ready to do! Good luck, Karel

Call your doctor!! Just to be safe!! I too thought my legs were having cramp due to surgery, walking and not enough vitamins about 1-2 weeks after surgery. I really thought it was normal. But when I posted on the main msg board looking for remedies I was told CALL YOUR DOCTOR!! I did and had to get a battery of test done. My D-dimer was very high and that concerned them. My doctor chose to monitor me closer than he would have if I'd not had this pain. It may well be over doing it but let your doctor decide that. better safe than sorry.>>>>>hugs
