Tammy Prince

Does anyone recognize this name? Ya'll yesterday was horrible, you know I work at Wal-Mart and I'm a manager there so whenever there is an accident a Member of management must respond. Someone paged for an acc. outside of Tire and Lube Express So I went, There was a young woman there lying on the ground, I was trying to find out what had happened from her husband, She was in and out of conscienous, I asked her what her name was and she told me Tammy, I asked her if she was diebatic(maybe her blood sugar was low)but she said "no". Her husband told me she had had Gastric-bypass surgery in Feb. and that she had past-out one other time before. The ambulance came, ya'll it wasn't good. She went unconcious again, they couldn'y get a pulse, she wasn't breathing, It freaked me out really bad. I went a couple hours later to the hospital to check on her and her husband who was just a wreck, and ya'll she didn't make it. I feel just horrible for her and her husband, who also had WLS back in Aug. They said she had a blood clot in her leg and it went to her heart. I feel just terrible. But I was wondering if any of ya'll recognized the name, Tammy Prince and her Husband is Arnold Prince. Kindof gives me some second thoughts a little, especially to see something like that happen, But I know not everyone has the same issues and not everyones body is the same, maybe she had the blood clot before surgery, I don't know, just wanted to get this off my mind, it really did freak me out... Carrie~ Thanks for sharing this with us. I tried to look up a Tammy Prince but didnt find her listed. I'm sure it did freak you out, it would me. Yes things can and do happen. That is why it is so important to do as much research and soul searching as you can before hand. I knew what could go wrong but I made up my mind that WLS was the best thing for me. If the bad should happen, so be it. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tammy and her family. I'll also keep you in my thoughts too. Sidney

Carrie Wow that is sooo sad and scarry at the same time ...But your right the blood clot had nothing to do with the WLS . That could have happened no matter what . That is just something mabey she had issues with before hand or something she never followed up on with her Doc ...But i am sorry to hear that ..I know that is a hard situation to be placed in !!! Hey, Carrie. I know that had to be a scary experiance for you. I work in a Vascular lab in a hospital. I just want you to know that blood clots can happen to anyone. Of course any abdominal surgery can trigger blood clots,or long plane or car rides. You have to make sure that after surgery you pay close attention to your body. If you are short of breath leg cramps call your doctor, do not wait. Serita

Wow Carrie, I'm sorry you had to witness all that but its a sad fact of life that ANY injury or insult to our body wether it's surgery or a fall can start a blood clot forming. Just send me an e-mail if you need to vent or just need a shoulder. Lisa
