11 days and counting!

I completed the LONG preop day at Atlanta Medical Ctr. today. I spent 3 hours at Dr. Duncan's office taking a test with about 20 T or F questions regarding the surgery, post-op and preop, to evaluate knowledge of what to expect. The Dr. as well as the director of the wellness center spent time trying to convience a group of about 20 of us NOT to have the surgery. Needless to say, no one in the group was swayed. They simply want us to be abolutely certain that we want to go through with the surgery and that we understand the impact it will have on our lives...the good, the bad and the possibly ugly (complications etc.) About 2 hours were spent at the day surgery center having additional labwork, chest xray, ekg, anesthesia consult and surgical permits. The infamous bowel prep instructions were also given to us...what fun! Now all that is left is the call from the Drs. office to give me a time to be at the hospital on May 24th. I will soon be a post-op!! I'll keep you guys posted. Vince

YEAH!!!!! I'm in the boat with ya!!!! Mine is also the 24th and I'm just biding my time. I even have my surgery time....7:30 am....and I have to be at the hospital by 6. It's funny..I keep repeating that to myself! The days are dragging.....I just want it to be here!!!! We can work on the coutn down at the same time my fellow "soon to be" looser!

Vince ......Good luck ....I know that Pre Op stuff is for the birds ..but at least you got to do it all in one day ...I know a few people who had to do it in two days...UGHHH that would have killed me ..... Best of luck and i will be thinking about you on the 24th Laura
