Multiple Sclerosis & WLS is the a link?

I was wondering if there has been anyone here or if you know of anyone who has been diagnosied with MS. I had wls NOV 2002 and had complications http://www.geocities.com/aprilwilson929/story.html I also had a hernia repair done in Oct 2003. On Jan 14, 2004 I was told I have MS. I had wondered if the WLS may have triggered this, but the doctor seems not to think so. However I have since found out that 2 other people I know who had WLS and had complications and had to have other surgeries afterwards, they now have MS also. So I was just curious to see if there were more. Thanks April

April, Hello! Sorry to hear that you ve had your share of problems from surgery. Im a nurse but I ve not heard of a link to MS but thats definately something to check into. Especially with your friends having it too. Do you have a family history of it? I know with some diseases once you have something drastic as this surgery done it seems to make other things appear that may not have prior to that!
