Anyone recently approved that has Cigna HMO ?????

I am just wonering if anyone has recently this current new year 2004 has ever been approved for LAP RNY surgery that has Cigna HMO. I have been told so many different requirements. Any sucess stories that people may want to share or any words of advice are deeply needed. I am already aware of the squeeky wheels yahoo group, but just thought that I would ask here. Diane

I have Cigna HMO and am in the process of trying to get approved... I also work for them. I know there was some confusion over whether they were covering it in 2004, but I have spoken to the head of the dept that handles it and was told that many companies chose to not have it as a benefit this year, but for me as a Cigna employee it was still a benefit provided I meet the medical necessity guidelines
