I was approved on 2.18.04 for surgery. I know this because someone from UHC called me last week to inform me that my letter has been mailed out. My question is....How long does it take for Karen or Joyce to call me and give me a date and how far in weeks was your date?( ie. 1 month 2?) I am very ready by now, see this is my second surgeon, second approval, an second time waiting for a date! If anyone has any information please let me know

Hi Kesha. I would call Joyce to confirm she has received the approval in the mail. Then she passes your file on to the Dr and he sets the dates on Fridays. So you will get your date on a Friday. Just call her to confirm if she has it so you will know if you will get your date this Friday or possibly next Friday. Good Luck.

I just got approved today and I was told by Jennifer B in Duncans office that if they receive a copy of the letter by 5pm on Tuesday then you will get a date that Friday.. if not you have to wait until next Friday. I asked BCBS to fax me a copy of my approval.

Congrats on your approval. It will be no time until you are off and losing. I begin my process with Dr. Duncan with the seminar at the end of September and my surgery was on December 5th. Of course I had previously been scheduled with another doctor but I decided to change after I had doubts about how things were happening. (By the way, I am so thankful for making that decision.) But changing meant resending things to the insurance company and such but everything happened rather quickly. Joyce was wonderful about scheduling my surgery and even moved it up when a someone cancelled. Best of luck!
