What is an EGD? Have any men used Dr. K at Emory University Bariatric Center?

I'm a patient of Dr. Khaitian she is a wonderful surgeon with great bedside manner. I'm 6 weeks post-op and don't regret using her at all. I only know one male who had surgery with her sorry. Now the EGD I know is the test they used to look inside your stomach (I think) I wouldn't know bcbs refuse to pay for mines so I never had one before surgery.
