I overheard 2 co-workers talking about this yesterday. I know Emory in Atlanta offers it. I heard one of my co-workers say that it was over $4, 000 and not covered by insurance. Anyone know?

TJ= I lost 50 lbs on the optifast program and most of my hair. Men do very well on this diet. You eat only protein shakes. Men usually drop weight faster than women. I payed over $3000 for the program at a hospital in Newnan. That included exercise classes. Doctor visits, weigh-ins, etc. My insurance at the time 1991 paid my claims for the program to the hospital even though I had filed showing paid receipts. The hospital would get around to paying me on their own good time even though I had no debt with them. On Good Friday serveral years later the hospital had collection agents calling me saying I never paid the hospital. What happened? I had to hire an attorney to figure it out---the insurance people decided they shouldn't have paid for my optifast program in retrospect (4-5Yrs) so they just asked the hospital to return the money to them and the hospital just gave them the money-my money. I won the dispute but they left a mark on my credit that they promised to remove. Sorry, Guess that just left a bad taste in my mouth

I did Optifast in the late '80 with Oprah! I lost 55 lbs for about 5 minutes and went right back up and then some!
