Marietta GA Support Groups and Possible Creation of one!
Hi,
my name is daisy and am 25 yrs old. I live in marietta and work in woodstock. I am looking for a support group close by that meets on weekends. I have also thought about starting a group for VSG patients and other wls patients to meet up maybe excercise, have a meal and chat or plan activities. Maybe something like a meetup group for wls patients
Hope to get alot of feed back about people who would need and want to join.
I am open to anything but would perfer to have something where we can meetup on the weekend or even friday night and just be able to talk and share our experience.
I am scheduled for my VSG on Feb 28th and am looking to give and get all the support I can for this long journey ahead!

I live in Marietta and I am having my VSG next month. I go to Dr Macik's Support Groups they are the 2nd Thursday of every month near Northside hospital. I haven't really gone to any others in the area.
Anyway, I would also be ok with another group that met on weekends. But I must admit I just haven't really done a lot of investigation. I do think Dr. Dennis Smith has on on Saturdays, but I have never been to it.

Sorry guys. My message didn't post where I wanted it to the first time. Dr. Smith has groups 3 times a month at 3 different places. His Saturday meetings are in Austell near Cobb Wellstar Hospital. The Tuesday group is near Kennestone and Thursday group is off of Windy Hill. I have been to all several times and they are very informative and they are open to everyone whether you used Dr. Smith or not. I personally used Dr. Macik but I'm not crazy about his groups.
