I have had my moments.  Today is definitley one of the better days.  The last week has been horrible.  I can't get protein, food or water down.  I really think it is the hiatal hernia that's not right.  I will see Dr. Macik on Thurs.

I have found the Isopure protein drinks and I think I can do these.  If I see another smoothie or protein shake, I literally will puke.  I really don't like food at all right now but am making adjustments.  I can do ground beef and a little chicken, lots of soup.  I tried cereal and it went down awesome but had too much sugar in it so I paid for that one.  Anyways, I guess as my husband says, I am a work in progress.  My new problem is the skin on the under arms and the thighs.  I was a thick, athletic person and didn't think I would see this but oh hell have I got work to do.

I am down 53 since 10-25 and 31 since dayof surgery 12-2.

You know it's kinda normal to be miserable for a couple of months post op. I think people on here are afraid to post how bad they feel because they don;t want to be flamed.

Haviong saif that, you are a month out and really should be gettign at least all your liquids. Getting dehydrated or worse having to get iv protein should be enough to scare you into forcing it down.

Believe me it will be far more miserable than any bad tasting [rotein.  By now you don't need the Isopure. You can do any protein. try the Jay Robb. I swear by the tropical dreamcicle. Orange flavored.

Also ground beef and chicken are traditionally harder for people to get down???

Have you tried softer stuff like tuna, salmon, egg salad or chicken salad with no pickles or celery?

Also crab legs are divine.  They are pricey, but you can only eat a little bit, so worth the splurge because they are easy to swallow.  Maybe go to the local chinese buffett and get a few already cooked ones or some shrimp by the pound to go.

Don't do the crab delights fake crab. They are full of sugar and may make you dump

I have tried chix salad and tuna.I am doing ok with those.  I hate eggs and not a fan of salmon.  I have grilled some tilapia and mahi-mahi.  Love me some crab legs, will have to try it soon.  I did finally get noodles from chix noodle soup down the other day.  Rice will be my next try.  The bad part is just not being hungry or having tastes but knowing you have to eat.  Thanks so much for keeping up with me.  I will be starting back at the gym on Tues due to SNOW!!!!!

Hold off on the rice. Trust me! It's still hard for me and I'm 18 months out.

Also noodles and rice really don't have protein. I know when you're at this point where everything is hard to stay down you're tempted to eat just whatever you actually can swallow and not throw up, but still do protein, protein, protein.

Don't start bad habits this soon out.  The most successful rny and banders don't do many carbs even years out.
