Cigna SHBP Covers Plastics

I just got off the phone with a cigna rep and she said yes Cigna will cover plastics under our shbp plan. I gave her the procedure codes 19316 breast lift and 19318 breast reduction. She said 15831 tummy tuck is not covered. But, I asked further, and she said removal of exces skin may be covered.

All of these need letter of medical necessity. Same as the wls...

Also, the consult is billed as a specialist visit and does not require any special insurance approval. So, I definitely will be going for some consults if for nothing else just to educate myself on what's availabe and the costs.  That way, even if I do have to go out of the coutry for PS I will have something to compare things to.

She didn't make it seem easy, but she didn't say absolutely NO either...

Now, I'm not sure how much of a fight I'll have to put up, but I really think I'd like a breast lift and tummy tuck.  So, my game plan is to make some dermo appts to start documenting things.

I think if enough of us try for plastics, they'll  be more likely to cover it.

I would be ok not having the reconstructive procedures, but on the outside it's like everything's slim and cute, but when I look at myself in the mirror, I still see remenants of my fat girl body. I think that's why it's so hard to believe when someone says you look so skinny.  Underneath it all, I still have my pre-op curves.

If anyone else has had any shbp plastics experiences,  please share.

Well off to round 2 for me.

As my girl Ruby put it " First you have fat, then loose skin, then scars" (from plastics)....

This really never ends, and you really never are perfect.

This is awesome because I have Cigna SHBP.  Do you have the HRA?
Thanks Nancy

Yes,  I have the HRA.   Will keep you posted on my progress. Are you looking into PS too?

I'm not sure when I'll be able to do anything. I am still losing :-(. I thought I was done, then I get on the scale and 5 more pounds!!!  Oh well, the life of a DS'er...
