I have Arrived!!!!!

Moved down here from Michigan. 

Finally got the last of my stuff out of the moving PODS this morning.  Now the fun task of sorting it all out and putting things away.  

Need to find a surgeon.

Need to find a support group

I need some FRIENDS!!!!!!!!


Oh and i am down 72 lbs as of this morning.  THANK GOD I got my RNY or I would've never been able to pull this move off.

I live quite a ways north of you, but you should have no trouble at all finding a support group in the Lawrenceville area.

Hi Suzy! 

There is a support group at Emory Johns Creek the 3rd Wednesday and the 4th Saturday of each month.  It may take you 30 or 45 minutes to get there in traffic depending on where you are in Lawrenceville. 

There may be a group in Larwrenceville.  I am not sure. 

There are many good surgeons in the area.  However, i am not sure which ones will see patients that have had surgery elsewhere.  I do think Dr. Steinberg will takes on patients from other surgeons.  I am not sure exactly where he is located.

Brenda is correct.  Dr. Steinberg often sees and treats post ops from other surgeons.  His office is in Decatur, around the corner from DeKalb Medical Center.  Depending on where you are in Lawrenceville and traffic (assuming it's not rush hour), it's probably about a 35-40 minute ride from downtown Lawrenceville.
 
I would suggest you call Shawna at 404-501-7903.

The support groups associated with that practice meet at the hospital.  They meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 until 9 p.m.  You can get specific information about which group is which when you call.

Dr. Steinburg is excellent. I'm sure u will like him.

Thanks so much everyone.  Dr. Steinburg it is then.  I just hope they take Kaiser Insurance.  I will call this morning and find out.  I had called them back in June I believe on the advice of you here, and he does take on patients from other surgeons.  But I didn't know what kind of ins. we would have back then.

Hi Suzy!  Welcome.  I currently have Kaiser and from my understanding the only surgeon they use in the Atl area is Dr. Macik.  Call and verify but everyone I know with Kaiser has been referred to him.

Well, guess I am screwed.  Macik won't accept other surgeon's patients.  Steinberg doesn't take KP.  Sigh.

Don't give up yet.  I'm sure there are surgeons out there that will accept you as a patient and take your insurance as well.

Suzy.  If I am not mistaken, Dr. Steinberg treats Kaiser patients.  I remember that because the Kaiser patients go to a different nutritionist.  Please give Shawna a call.  She will give you the necessary information.
