Can anyone share some of the foods you were able to eat?  I was told meat, cheese, eggs, and green veggies.  What kind of green veggies are acceptable?

I didn't eat any veggies.  I became partial to Steak with Cheese melted on top.

I actually did the High Protien No/Low Carb portion for 4.5 weeks.  I wouldn't worry to much about the veggies but find ways to keep meat interesting through various seasonings and spices.

Probably the best green veggie would be spinach or aspargus.

It's hard to do at first, but you get used to it very quickly (especially since after the surgery, you can't have any carbs for a while!) Hang in there! YOU can do it!

These are what I stuck with during my 2 weeks:

Lots of green, leafy veggies (romaine, spinach, boston lettuce, etc) with Ranch Dressing
Meats
Cottage Cheese
Cheeses
Eggs

It became tough that last week because my blood sugars started taking a dive.

You can do it!  I have not eaten bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, (crackers, etc.) or sugar in almost 10 years.  You get used to it....and just think of the possibilities of finding other types of food that you never thought about....and they are very tasting and good for you.

Good luck,

Ginger

I ate a salad with ground beef or turkey with cheddar cheese and taco seasoning for my low carb diet before my surgery.  I lost about 10 lbs before surgery.  Just make sure that you don't gain anything from when you last went to him.
